ENID, Okla. - For the second straight season, the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship had the same ending.

Daytona State College vs. Arizona Western College in the final. A championship match that wasn't settled in regulation. And a victory by the Falcons.

The 2025 edition did have one plot twist - not only did the teams play to a scoreless tie through regulation, but followed suit through two separate 10-minute overtimes, which sent the match to penalty kicks.

Through five rounds of PKs, the teams remained knotted at 4-all. In the first sudden death PK round, Reece Garcia Roman found the back of the net to give the Falcons a 5-4 advantage. Then, Daytona State's Julianna Trujillo blocked the Matadors' game-tying attempt to give the Falcons their second straight National Championship.

Trujillo was named the Tournament's Most Valuable Defensive Player while teammate Shaneil Buckley garned Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Offensive Player honors.

Buckley, Garcia Roman and Trujillo were joined on the All-Tournament Team by Susu Roberts and Sienna Gillespie.

The Falcons' Hope Clark was named Coach of the Tournament.

Daytona State finishes the season with a perfect 20-0-0 record and has won 35 straight matches since its last defeat on September 20, 2024.
