TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida College System Activities Association has announced its Weekly Awards in baseball and softball.


FCSAA Weekly Awards (for all events April 13-19)

Congratulations to the following student-athletes who excelled in competition during the previous week:

  • FCSAA DI Baseball Player of the Week: Brock Clayton, Northwest Florida State
  • FCSAA DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Xavier Pelzer, Miami Dade
  • FCSAA DI Softball Player of the Week: Avery Velazquez, Eastern Florida State
  • FCSAA DI Softball Pitcher of the Week: Emma Eekhoff, Indian River State
  • FCSAA DII Baseball Player of the Week: Thomas Bly, St. Johns River State
  • FCSAA DII Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Braylon Reynante, Lake-Sumter State
  • FCSAA DII Softball Player of the Week: Bree Urban, State College of Florida

FCSAA Sports Roundup

  • The FCSAA Team Store has re-opened, courtesy of BSN Sports, and will remain open for the rest of the spring semester, providing access to FCSAA-branded gear throughout the winter and spring championship seasons.
  • Baseball
    • DI rankings: (3) Chipola, (10) Florida SouthWestern, (19) Central Florida, (21) Gulf Coast State
    • DII rankings: (8) Lake-Sumter State, (14) Pasco-Hernando State, (15) St. Johns River State
    • Tickets are now on sale for the FCSAA DII Baseball Championship in Port Charlotte, Fla., April 30-May 3. 
    • Eastern Florida State alum Bruce Bochy received the NJCAA's Merit Award
  • Softball
    • DI rankings: (1) Florida SouthWestern, (2) Northwest Florida State, (6) Santa Fe, (10) Indian River State, (11) Eastern Florida State, (15) Miami Dade, (17) Seminole State, (21) Daytona State, (RV) Gulf Coast State, (RV) Chipola
    • DII rankings: (9) State College of Florida, (13) St. Johns River State, (21) Florida State College at Jacksonville
    • Congratulations to Northwest Florida State head coach Andy Lee, who picked up career win No. 1000 over the weekend!

  • Women's Golf
    • DI: Seminole State won the NJCAA DI Southeast District Championship last Tuesday. The Raiders and runner-up Daytona State earned automatic bids to the NJCAA DI Women's Golf Championship.
    • DII: Florida Gateway College will host the NJCAA DII South District Championship April 27-28 in Lake City, Fla. 
  • Men's Golf
    • DI: Palm Beach State (E) has a nine stroke lead after two rounds at the NJCAA DI Southeast District Championship. Eastern Florida State is in third place, six strokes back of second-place Central Alabama, entering Tuesday's final round. 
    • DII: Lake-Sumter State sits in eighth place after two rounds at the NJCAA DII South District Championship. 
    • Eastern Florida State head coach Jamie Howell received the Walter Hauck Award presented to the NJCAA Coaches Association President of the Year
