FORT PIERCE, Fla. - St. Johns River State College claimed its first FCSAA Volleyball Championship on Saturday, claiming the Division II crown with a straight-set win over Lake-Sumter State College.
The Vikings won in dominating fashion, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21, to earn the FCSAA's automatic bid to the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
St. Johns River State and Lake-Sumter State split a pair of head-to-head meetings in 2025, with both going five sets.
The No. 4 seed Lakehawks played a pair of matches on Friday, including a five-set thriller over top-seed Gulf Coast State College on Friday evening. The Vikings, meanwhile, had a relatively cleaner path to Saturday's final, beating two-time defending FCSAA Champion Pensacola State College in four sets in Friday's first semifinal.
St. Johns River State's Jessica Horn was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates Lovina Teel and Nadia Ewton, as well as Lake-Sumter State's Samantha Beatty and Emma Van Deusen.
Indian River State College's Maya Rhamy, Pensacola State's Catie Woolf and Gulf Coast State's Danna Aguilera also made the team.
St. Johns River State's Stephanie Champine received the Kim Whitney Award, presented to the FCSAA DII Volleyball Coach of the Year.
