CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Miami Dade College's Meredith Venner was named the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Venner, a freshman center from San Andres, Colombia, only played one game last week but put up big numbers.
Against Daytona State, she recorded 33 points and 18 rebounds in the Sharks' 85-67 loss against Daytona State.
Venner shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the field and 77.8 percent (7-of-9) from the line while also recording four assists and one steal.
This is Venner's second NJCAA Player of the Week award this season.
Venner was named the FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
