CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Gulf Coast State College's Arianny Francisco De Oliveira was named the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Wednesday.
De Oliveira, a sophomore forward from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, averaged 32.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in two games last week for the Commodores, who picked up wins over Pearl River and Elgin.
In doing so, she shot 56.5 percent (26-of-46) from the field and 90.0 percent (9-of-10) from the free throw line.
Against Pearl River, she scored a career-high 43 points on 19-of-30 shooting and pulled down 15 rebounds. The next day, she poured in 21 points vs. Elgin.
De Oliveira was named the FCSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
