CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NJCAA announced its Weekly Awards on Wednesday and Northwest Florida State College's Cailyn Heyl was named the Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Heyl, a sophomore right-hander from Central, La., ehigh Acres, Fla., went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances last week.
She picked up wins vs. Pensacola State and Chipola, helping the Raiders complete an undefeated Panhandle Conference schedule.
In nine total innings in the circle, Heyl allowed only three hits, two unearned runs and one walk, while striking out seven.
On Tuesday, she was named FCSAA Division I Softball Pitcher of the Week.
