CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Florida Gateway College's Troy Winkler was named the NJCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday.
Winkler, a sophomore from Taylor, Fla., led the Timberwolves to a fourth-place finish in the team standings at the Willie Laster Invitational, hosted by Albany State University.
In a field of 66 runners, comprised of both two- and four-year colleges, Winkler was the top NJCAA finisher, placing fifth overall with an 8K time of 27:17.90.
This marks Winkler's second career NJCAA Runner of the Week honor.
On Tuesday, he was named FCSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
