Former Daytona State College Falcon Jackson Makoi represents South Sudan in 2024 Paris Olympics Basketball

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Former Daytona State Falcon Jackson Makoi represented South Sudan in basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Makoi's exceptional talent and dedication earned him a place on the world stage, a testament to his hard work and commitment to his craft with the game of basketball.

During his time at Daytona State College, Makoi's performance on the court was nothing short of spectacular. He was named the FCSAA Central Conference Player of the Year, recognizing his outstanding contributions and leadership. Additionally, his remarkable skills and consistent excellence earned him the honor of NJCAA's Player of the Week, highlighting his impact in collegiate basketball.

"Jackson's journey from Daytona State to the Olympics is an inspiring story of perseverance and achievement," said Will Dunne, Daytona State College's Athletic Director. "We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and are excited to see him represent South Sudan on such a significant international platform."
 
South Sudan was in Group C with the United States, Puerto Rico, and Serbia.
