CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Miami Dade College's Xavier Pelzer was named the NJCAA Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Wednesday.
Pelzer, a sophomore southpaw from Columbia, S.C., went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in one appearance last week for the Sharks.
Against Hillsborough, Pelzer started and scattered three hits over seven shutout innings in Miami Dade's 5-1 win.
He walked two and struck out 10.
Pelzer was named the FCSAA Division I Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
