TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Major League Baseball's 2025 Draft is in the books, and a number of current and former student-athletes from FCSAA schools heard their names called.
Beginning with former Northwest Florida State College standout Kyson Witherspoon, who was drafted in the first round (15th pick overall) by the Boston Red Sox, 18 current or former FCSAA student-athletes were selected over the course of the 20-round draft.
Witherspoon's twin brother, Malachi, also a Northwest Florida State alum, was next off the board, selected in the second round (62nd pick overall) by the Detroit Tigers.
The Tigers selected three FCSAA products overall, the most of any team. The Athletics and the Miami Marlins drafted two FCSAA alums each.
Among current FCSAA participants, Chipola College's J.C. Vanek led the way. He was a 14th round pick of the Kansas City Royals.
