DAVIE, FL-- ASA Miami's baseball program earned a big win Friday night against a talented Broward Seahawks ball club. Sophomores Sergio Chil and Amado Chirinos lead the way for the Storm. Chil who started at first base for ASA Miami hit the teams first home-run of the season and finished the night going 2-3 with 2 RBI. Chirinos earned the win (2-1) and went 6 2/3 innings while giving up only one run on five hits. Freshman left hander Chris Grullon came in relief throwing 2 1/3 innings and picked up his first save of the season. 

"This was a great win for our young program. Guys played well together as a team. We played great defense and benefited from outstanding pitching performances by Amado (Chirinos) and (Chris) Grullon. Head coach Jonathan Hernandez added after the game. "I know the season hasn't gotten off to the start we wanted but we will continue to work and get better every time we go out on that field."

The win gives the Storm momentum as they travel to New Port Richey for a weekend series vs. Pasco Hernando state. The first conference series in ASA College-Miami history. Coach Hernandez knows what type of program his team will go up against. "We look forward to playing Pasco this weekend. They are a great program and made it to the DII World Series just two years ago. 

Games are scheduled for Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at noon.
