DI Baseball Player of the Week

Myles Davis

Myles Davis, State College of Florida

  • Batted .625 (10-for-16) with nine runs scored, two doubles, three home runs, and nine RBI in four games
  • Hit safely in each game, helping the Manatees to a perfect 4-0 week
  • Was 4-for-4 with two homers and five RBI in a non-conference win vs. Florida SouthWestern
  • In the season finale, he went 3-for-4, scored three runs, homered and drove in two vs. St. Petersburg

DI Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Jordan Vargas

Jordan Vargas, Miami Dade

Hialeah, Fla.

  • 2-0, 1.17 ERA in two appearances
  • Picked up two must-win victories for the Sharks, who clinched a postseason berth with a three-game sweep vs. Eastern Florida State
  • Started and picked up the win in game one of the series, scattering six hits over six innings - he walked none and struck out seven
  • Got the win in relief in game two three days later with 1.2 scoreless innings
  • In 7.2 total innings, he allowed eight hits, one earned run and no walks while striking out seven

DI Softball Player of the Week

Nicole Edmiaston

Nicole Edmiaston, Florida SouthWestern

  • Batted .500 (6-for-12) with four runs scored, one double, one home run, nine RBI and two stolen bases in four games
  • Helped the Bucs to a 4-0 week and the Citrus Conference Championship
  • Went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in game one vs. Polk State
  • Was 2-for-4 with four RBI in game one vs. Eastern Florida State; drove in two more in game two and finished the doubleheader 3-for-7

DI Softball Pitcher of the Week

Cailyn Heyl

Cailyn Heyl, Northwest Florida State

  • 2-0, 0.00 ERA in two appearances
  • Picked up wins vs. Pensacola State and Chipola, helping the Raiders complete an undefeated Panhandle Conference schedule
  • In nine total innings in the circle, she allowed only three hits, two unearned runs and one walk, while striking out seven

Andrew Merchant

Andrew Merchant, Lake-Sumter State

  • Batted .500 (6-for-12) with four runs scored, two doubles, one home run, six RBI in one stolen base in three games
  • Hit safely in each game of a three-game set vs. Palm Beach State
  • In the season finale, he went 4-for-6, finishing a triple shy of hitting for the cycle, scored three runs and drove in four, leading the Lakehawks to a 16-9 win that clinched a postseason berth
