TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 25, 2018) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its NJCAA Region 8 Division I and Division II Volleyball Coaches' Polls for September 25 and Division I and Division II Player, Defensive Player and Setter of the Week for matches played September 17-23. 

The next poll and individual weekly awards will be released October 2.

Player of the Week: Kimberlie Correa, Miami Dade
Fr. – MB | Brusque, Brazil 

  • Averaged 2.7 kills, 1.1 digs and 3.1 points in 11 sets over four matches during the voting period
  • Helped Miami Dade run its winning streak to 57 consecutive matches with four straight set victories, including one over No. 15 Polk State
  • Posted a hitting percentage of .491 for the week, including three matches of .500 or better

  • Had 27 digs vs. Central Florida; 32 vs. Miami Dade and 36 in the Manatees' five-set victory over Florida State College-Jacksonville

  • Helped Miami Dade run its winning streak to 57 consecutive matches with four straight set victories, including one over No. 15 Polk State
  • Also averaged 4.0 digs per set and finished the week with three straight double-doubles (assists-digs)
  • Had 42 assists and 15 digs vs. Central Florida; 21 assists and 11 digs vs. Polk State

Player of the Week: Stephanie Garza, Gulf Coast State
Fr. – OH | Brownsville, Texas 

  • In Gulf Coast State's only match of the week, she posted a double-double, 14 kills and 20 digs, in the Commodores' four-set victory over Florida Gateway

Defensive Player of the Week: Mary Daniel, Gulf Coast State
So. – DS | Leesburg, Ga. 

  • Averaged 6.5 digs in four sets over one match during the voting period
  • Helped Gulf Coast State to its first Sun-Lakes Conference victory, a 3-1 win over Florida Gateway
  • In the win, she recorded 26 digs

Setter of the Week: Jordyn Pruski, St. Johns River State
Fr. – S | San Antonio, Texas 

  • Averaged 11.1 assists in eight sets over three matches during the voting period
  • Currently second overall in Region 8 and leads Division II players in total assists (542)
  • Helped St. Johns River State to two wins in three matches
  • In matches against Pasco-Hernando State and Eastern Florida State, she recorded 32 and 51 assists, respectively
  • Also had 10 digs vs. Eastern Florida State for the double-double
