NWF State's Jared Wilson-Frame named NJCAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 9, 2016) - Northwest Florida State College's Jared Wilson-Frame has been named the NJCAA's Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week. 

Wilson-Frame was named the NJCAA Region 8 Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Wilson-Frame, a freshman guard from Hartford, Conn., averaged 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals in three games during the voting period. 

On Saturday evening, he was named MVP of the Region 8 Men’s Basketball Tournament after leading Northwest Florida State to the tournament championship with an 81-76 win over Tallahassee Community College. 

Against Tallahassee, he tallied 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists. 

For the week, Wilson-Frame shot 37.5 percent (15-of-40) from the field, 44.0 percent (11-of-25) from the three-point line and 72.7 percent (16-of-22) from the free throw line. 

Wilson-Frame is the third player of the week recipient from Region 8 this season. Miami Dade College's Darius Williams earned the honor January 21 and Eastern Florida State College's C.J. Jackson on February 10.
