FCSAA Baseball Notebook: May 19

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 19, 2015) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has released its Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week selections for May 19.

Congratulations to Northwest Florida State College, FCSAA State Baseball Champions. The Raiders have qualified for the NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, Colo., which begins May 23.

NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Player of the Week
Aaron Palmer, Northwest Florida State
Sophomore – SS
Jesup, Ga.

Northwest Florida State College's Aaron Palmer is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Player of the Week. Palmer, a sophomore from Jesup, Ga., batted .461 (6-for-13) with four runs scored and two RBIs in three games during the voting period. In five total games at the FCSAA Tournament, Palmer batted 10-for-21 with six runs scored and five RBIs.

NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Brian Browning, Northwest Florida State
Sophomore – LHP
Homewood, Ala.

Northwest Florida State College's Brian Browning is this week’s NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Browning, a sophomore from Homewood, Ala., went 1-0 with a 1.00 ERA in one appearance during the voting period. In his only outing at the FCSAA Tournament, Browning pitched a complete game in the Raiders' 2-1 victory over Gulf Coast State. He scattered five hits and four walks in the win but offset that with 11 strikeouts.
